Autopsy Request • Based on Article 133 Indonesian Criminal-law Perocedural Code (KUHAP)
Autopsy Warrant • Issued by the FORENSIC AND MEDICOLEGAL DEPARTMENT sign by the Head of the Department
Preparation • Verify all autopsy administration requirement: • Autopsy request document • Autopsy warrant • Family / Next of kin informed consent (non obligatory) • Prepare all required autopsy equipment • Prepare all documentation • Camera / video-tape recorder • Obduction-report form • Universal precaution
External Examination • Inspect and document the body’s tag, covers, clothes, jewellery and all article within the body bag • Weigh and measure the body • Inspect and document the body for identification • Inspect and document the eyes, ears, nose, mouth, and genital area • Inspect and document perimortem or post mortem changes • Inspect and document all the wound and intravital sign
Internal Examination • Make the primary incision(Y incision or I incision) • Widen the field of view by reflect the skin • Check for tension pneunothorax • Release the chest plate • Detach the diaphragm from the chest plate • Inspect surfaces and contents of the pleural surfaces • Using one of the organ removing technique (eviceration), start removing the organ to be inspected
Internal Examination... • Open the head for brain removal • Retract the brain (cerebrum), cerebellum, and brainstem for further inspection • Inspect the calvaria and the base of skull • Weigh, measure and inspect all the organ for their gross (macroscopic) appearence before dissect them and take a sample for microscopic examination • Make sure to make a note or documentation on every findings

Plennary Disscussion • All autopsy findings are disscussed in the present of all Forensic Team • The disscussion will give a good cause in establishing the cause of death
Visum et Repertum Report • The end result of all the examination (external examination, internal examination, and supporting examination) • Conclude: • The identity • The estimated time of death • The establish cause of death with proximus mortis approach • The mechanism of death • The manner of death
