Early Years Outcomes • Non statutory guide • An extract from ‘Development Matters’, using the statements from ‘A Unique Child’ • The Positive Relationships and Enabling Environment sections are not included • Has the same status as 'Development Matters', as both are non-statutory guidance www.gov.uk/government
Characteristics of Effective Learning • C of EL have not been included in 'Early Years Outcomes‘ • They remain important for knowing how children learn and how we can support children to become motivated and independent learners. 1.10 of the 'EYFS Statutory Framework' requires practitioners to reflect on how children learn. Therefore it is a statutory duty to reflect the characteristics of effective teaching and learning in practice
EYFS Profile The updated version of the EYFSP handbook. http://www.education.gov.uk/schools/teachingandlearning/assessment/eyfs Updated exemplification materials for the 2013 to 2014 academic year http://www.education.gov.uk/schools/teachingandlearning/assessment/eyfs

Data Dashboard EYFSP data is now available on Edulink • How GLD is calculated. • EYFSP setting AOL summary list updated and published. • Brief run through of the Data Dashboard. The data shows Worcestershire's GLD of 49% is below that of the National (52%) and our statistical neighbours. The data also shows that the average point score was 33.5
The graph below shows you visually how Worcestershire performed against the National figure across the Areas of Learning in 2013.

Analysing your Data • % of Children achieving GLD in Prime Areas and/or Literacy and Maths • % of Boys/Girls achieving GLD in Prime Areas +Literacy and Maths • % of Children achieving 'expected' and 'exceeding' in ALL AOL • % of Children assessed as 'emerging', 'expected' and 'exceeding' across all 17 ELG's • What is the supporting measure for the cohort? • How do your figures compare to county/national?
Analysing your Data... • Are there any patterns in attainment? E.g. few children attaining ‘expected’ or ‘exceeding’ in writing or number. • Are there any correlations between different ELGs such as writing and moving and handling? • % of Children's achievement in the 17 ELG's by gender, FSM, ethnicity, first language and month of birth (Autumn, Spring or Summer) • Were there any children who would have attained a GLD had it not been for 1 or 2 ELGs? • What were these ELGs? Is there a pattern?
Consider: • What were their starting points? • What does it tell us about attainment and needs of individual children e.g. SEND/EAL • Do children with high outcomes also have high PSED and demonstrate this through C of EL? • What aspects of EYFS provision need further development in the school? • How are Year 1 colleagues using this data to inform planning
