  1. Strategic Goal 5: Focus on the Sayre Campus so that it is fully integrated into the overall University • Increase enrollment on the Sayre Campus by 75 students over the next five years (15 students per year, or about a 2% annual increase). • Create integration of the SWOSU Weatherford and Sayre campuses. • Evaluate and improve the physical plant on the Sayre campus.

  2. Increase enrollment on the Sayre Campus by 75 students over the next five years (15 students per year, or about 2% annual increase) Research online and other nontraditional offerings to capture students who would otherwise not be taking classes with SWOSU, such as working adults. Invest in marketing Sayre degrees, programs and classes to western Oklahoma employers giving tuition reimbursement to employees, e.g., oil companies. Develop degrees that appeal to working adults. Use creative scheduling to develop and market complete degree programs. Examples may include online, blended, one weekend per month, and off-site meetings. Pursue local funding for Sayre area student scholarships utilizing SWOSU Foundation expertise.

  3. Create integration of the SWOSU Weatherford and Sayre campuses. A. Increase communication between respective academic units and offices on the two campuses. • Each GE department chair will create a list serve or other electronic means of communicating (e.g., bulletin board) between faculty on the two campuses teaching the same GE courses. The chair will send or post periodic, brief messages to the combined faculty regularly, at least once at the beginning of each semester. Notifications should be sent by email. • Departmental newsletters will include news from both campuses. • GE faculty at both campuses will have standing invitations to attend departmental and related meetings. • Weatherford departments will have initial departmental meetings, formal or informal, immediately after the annual all-university meeting in August, and invite the Sayre faculty teaching the same courses. • Weatherford faculty will send representatives to the monthly Sayre general meetings. • Academic units from Weatherford will be invited to participate in the Sayre campus's annual Career Day, and should make a point to periodically send a representative to Sayre to visit with faculty there to share information. • The campuses will have a unified events calendar.

  4. B. Encourage a unified SWOSU identity for students on both campuses. Have a “Sayre Day” on the Weatherford campus, with OL's giving tours. Increase Sayre participation at Panorama, SWOSU Saturday, Homecoming, and other games and events. Have Weatherford SGA and NSO people meet counterparts at Sayre. Purchase dedicated 15-passenger vans based at Sayre for student and faculty transportation. Have uniform faculty and student ID cards. Better inform Sayre students of services and benefits such as insurance, counseling, library, and wellness facilities.

  5. C. Designate scholarships for Sayre students who transfer to Weatherford, so that there is a guaranteed pool of money for students who choose to continue their education in Weatherford. Use Foundation expertise to find scholarship donor sources for Sayre students.

  6. Evaluate and improve the physical plant on the Sayre campus. Hire one additional maintenance employee at the Sayre campus. Investigate options to meet Sayre campus needs for maintenance and landscaping issues.
