  3. Deidameia • No real expression on her face • Naked right breast • Covered left side • Hair not very detailed • Elbow in the face of the centaur • The head tilted • Twists in her body

  4. Eurythion • Large beard and arms bent around to grab breast • Hoof twined round the thigh of Deidameia • Twist between human half of his body and horse half show the boundary • Side on view of lower body

Woodford Says: • “The bride on Apollo’s right grapples fiercely…’’ • “Though the woman’s body clearly expresses desperation and struggle, her face is unmoved” • “…grimace would not accord with the dignity of this queenly figure.” – contrast with - “Others’ faces that show their feeling freely’’
