  6. The Middle of the Gold Rush • Lived in tents • Cooked food over an open fire • Fires were very common • Winters were harsh • Sanitation was poor • Card games, Gambling, and betting are ways to pass time. • Gold= prices skyrocket

  7. End Of the Gold Rush • Brought economic prosperity • Life at the end was good for most • Importance of this was that it showed how much it was worth • Businesses flourished • Population grew rapidly
