  2. It's easy with GMail • Folders • Gmail does not use folders • Outdated concept • People “copy” and “move” an email into perhaps one or more folders in other systems, this is clearly silly

  3. Labels • Gmail allows you to label • An email, with one or more labels • Funnily enough a conversation can belong to several streams of thought....

  4. Creating Labels • Go to the “cog” symbol - top right hand corner • Then click on “Settings” • Then Labels (2nd from left) • Scroll down to “Create new label” • Or …...

  5. Gmail allows us to.. • Create filters and labels • At the same time • You can read an email then create a rule which says, “for every email from the this person”, attach this “label” or “labels” to it • Or • For every email containing “blah” in the body, “label” it with the following label

  7. Or we can nest a NEW label under exisiting one
