Stretching from California and Nevada located east of the Sierra Nevada. • Located in South America • Death Valley is the lowest point in the US, surrounded by dry high Mountains. The topography of Death Valley is a construct based off the fault movement, creating an arid climate and a diverse temperature range. In January, the temperature sits at 40 degrees F and climbs to 120 degrees F during the summer.
