HISTORY The Tahoe Prosperity Center: Who, What & Why? • The TPC is the only entity within the Basin with such broad stakeholder representation focused on economic prosperity and environmental sustainability. • The TPC, a 501(c)3 was formed as a signature recommendation of the Lake Tahoe Basin Prosperity Plan (LTBPP) which identified a need for “regional collaboration and dialogue.” • The TPC operates as a regional collaborative with an inclusive governance structure. • An all volunteer board, comprised of key leaders from the Basin's six jurisdictions, two Chambers of Commerce, the Tahoe Transportation District (TTD), the Tahoe Regional Planning Agency (TRPA), as well as from business, science, health, education and non-profit organizations has led the organization since its inception in 2010.
WHY US Why the Tahoe Prosperity Center? • Brings regional representation, voice and ultimately solutions, to what are regional problems. • Seeks solutions where there is no other champion or entity that has the capacity to facilitate necessary change.

NEXT STEPS Next Steps for the Center? • Connected Tahoe: Assessment & Planning • TPC will conduct both a current assessment of levels of digital delivery and surveys on future broadband needs in the next 6 months. • Identify high-need infrastructure projects & seek funding. • Dig Once Opportunities • Avoid missed opportunities to deploy fiber-optic conduit. • Investment Campaign • TPC needs to raise sustainable funding from its jurisdictional partners as well as other sources in order to succeed in the areas of Broadband and Digital infrastructure, land use commodities and environmental innovation, which in turn, benefits the entire region.
