OAT Introduction • OpenAdmin Tool (OAT) is a web-based console for monitoring and administrating one or more Informix database servers. • Why use OAT? • Graphical user interface • Visual representational of Informix database server information • Remote administration • Administration of multiple instances easily • Requires no changes on the database server • Up-to-date with the newest Informix database server features • Easy to use • Easy to install (comes with CSDK) • Lowers the learning curve for new users • Free • Open Source • Customizable with plug-ins • Interface available in multiple languages What’s new in OAT?
Automated Installation • Install OAT as part of CSDK 3.70 • OpenAdmin Tool (OAT) is no longer a separate download. It is now included in the Informix Client SDK installer and Informix bundle installer. • Choose ‘custom’ installation and choose OAT and its plug-ins from the feature tree • Available on: • Linux 32/64 • Windows 32 • MacOS 64 • New native 64-bit port for Linux What’s new in OAT?

TimeSeries Plug-in • Menu: SQL ToolBox > TimeSeries • View and manage TimeSeries objects in OAT • Containers, Calendars, Virtual Tables • Similar to Schema Manager, but specific to TimeSeries tables and objects What’s new in OAT?
Health Advisor Plug-in • Menu: Health Center > Health Advisor • Analyzes the state of the Informix database server • Gathers information about the database server, the databases, and the operating system, and creates a report that contains the results and recommendations. • Approximately 50 different items in 5 different categories are checked • Each alarm can be enabled/disabled • Some have thresholds that can be defined • Some have exceptions that can be defined • Execute the Health Advisor reports manually or automatically on a schedule • Reports can be emailed automatically • Create custom profiles allow the alerts to be tailed to a specific environment What’s new in OAT?
