Where • Desmond Tutu was born in Klerksdorp Transvaal. • He was educated in Johannesburg Bantu high school • He trained as a teacher at Pretoria Bantu normal college • He lives in South Africa
What Did he accomplish to be called a revolutionary • Equal civil rights for all South Africans • The abolition of South Africa’s passport law’s • A common system of education • The cessation of forced deportation from South Africa to the so-called “homelands”
When • He was born in 1931 • He graduated 1954 • Became a priest in 1960 • Studied theology in England in 1962-1966 • 1967-1978 he taught theology in South Africa • 1976-1978 he became the bishop of lesotho • 1978 became the first black General Secretary of the South African Council of Churches
Why • Desmond tutu’s reason of doing all the stuff he did is because he didn’t understand why white people were better than black people • Desmond Tutu wanted all people to be treated the same • Desmond Tutu wanted South Africa to be peaceful • Desmond Tutu was fighting for his own rights!
How • The most personality he needed was Courage! • After having courage he needed to have a little bit of Knowledge • How did he accomplish it all? Desmond Tutu had faith in God to keep moving • He accomplished everything he did by being able to communicate with the people, he was also in the government since he was very educated so he was able to communicate and tell the white people his ideas.
