  2. Thema: Kwantitatieve beleidsmethoden HIR TEW/MBE • Statistische en econometrische methoden • Optimalisatietechnieken uit operationeel onderzoek • Extraheren van nuttige inzichten uit grote hoeveelheden data

  3. Beroepsuitwegen • In deze richting word je getraind in analytisch en probleemoplossend denken. De vakken focussen op kwantitatieve methoden, maar zijn steeds toepassingsgericht (incl. cases en software). • Generieke methoden – je kan nog alle kanten uit, en de verdere samenstelling van je programma bepaalt mee je profiel(vb. systeemontwerper, marketingmanager, personeelsdirecteur, productieplanner, projectmanager, salesmanager, beursspecialist, beleggingsadviseur, accountant, fiscalist, bedrijfsrevisor, ondernemer, consultant, financieel analist, bankdirecteur, …) • Indien je ervoor kiest om een doctoraat te maken, dan zal je de mogelijkheid hebben om wetenschappelijk onderzoek te doen aan een universiteit en eventueel een academische loopbaan uit te bouwen[ 14/20 geeft vrijstelling voor ons doctorale programma ]

  8. Masterproef kwantitatieve methoden • Wie? HIR: ongeacht major/minor (zeker indien major K.M.) TEW & MBE: mits minor B.R., en verband met major • Voorbeelden van onderwerpen: • Forecasting football results in the Belgian First Division: model comparison and prediction of the final league ranking • Het voorspellen van de toekomstige commerciële waarde van een klant met behulp van het Pareto/NBD model • Elevator bank scheduling. Development of an algorithm for elevator control • Marktsegmentatie via latente klasse modellen en finite-mixture models: schattingsmethoden • Voorspellen van bezoekersaantallen van een toeristische attractie • … eigen onderwerp… • Individueel (mogelijk in groepjes van 2) • Gewoonlijk ORSTAT promotor; eventueel (co-)promotor uit andere richting
