New Academic Programs • Weekend MS Program in CS with Specialization in Web and Internet Technology • First generation will graduate in March 2005 • New Program in Port St. Lucie and Davie • Information Engineering Technology, Fall 2005 • Joint MS Program with College of Business in Computer Information Systems • International Programs • Collaboration with Nirma University (India) • Creating joint programs with other universities worldwide

  4. Research • Total external funding $4+ million • Motorola research projects – One Pass to Production (iDEN, Jaime Borras) • Two Motorola service grants. Involve 40 students • Two Federal Earmark projects in “Secure Telecommunications” and “Coastline Security Technologies” • Several NSF research grants • Research projects and initiatives with local companies (Avocent, OfficeLock, Citrix,..)

Program Format • Students attend formal classes at FAU about one weekend per month (total 11 months) • The remaining instruction is delivered through the latest distance learning technologies (BlackBoard system) • The format allows participants from industry to pursue their academic goals while maintaining their employment
