  2. Harassment The act of systematic and/or continued unwanted and annoying actions of one party or a group, including threats and demands.

  3. 1st Degree Harassment • Threatened to kill/injure person and communicate the threat via phone, mail, email, or other communication. • Had to have previously been convicted of a serious felony • Class D felony 1-5 years in jail, and $5,000 fines

  4. 2nd Degree Harassment • Telephone to address another in an indecent or obscene language • Communicated with another person via email, fax, letter, in manner likely to cause annoyance/alarm/harass. • Contacting another by phone with intents to harass, annoy, alarm whether or not a conversation occurs. • Class C: Misdemeanor. 3 years in jail, and $500 fines.

  5. Man Awarded $1.5 million for Debt Collectors' Racist Calls A 26 year old man was harassed my two employees, who worked at Advanced Call Center Technologies. He received racist phone calls that were derogatory towards his race. Jones sued them for profane voicemails, and won his case with $1.5 million. They were charged with racism.   7. Jailed for Facebook Friend Requests? Florida Man in the Clink Over Cyber Harassment 54 year old Harry Brudner was put in jail for sending multiple Facebook friend requests to his estranged wife. They had been separated for two years. The wife also had a restraining order against him. This was not his only offence he also hacked into her email account and changed the password. He was charged with cyber harassment. He was put in jail but then released on a $5,000 bail.
