Goals for our session • Share with you: • How and why we decided to use iPads • What equipment, materials, support etc. are needed to create the classroom • Classroom management techniques for distributing, collecting, and storing the iPads • Encourage you to create an iPad classroom • Answer your questions about creating an iPad classroom

  3. Why an iPAd classroom? • Redesign at Santa Ana College • Two Pathways • BSTEM-Business, Science, Technology, Engineering, Math • SLAM -Statistics and Liberal Arts Math • Two new 6 Unit Courses • Combining Elementary and Intermediate Algebra • BSTEM Math 084 • SLAM Math 083

  4. Why an iPAd classroom? • Redesign Model required technology in the classroom • No money for computer classrooms (6) • iPads are a cost effective alternative • iPads are compatible with • MyLabsPlus • ALEKS

  5. What is Needed? • iPads • Covers • Charger Carts • Locks for Carts • Place to store carts • Misc • Wipes • Hand sanitizer

  7. Classroom management • Numbering System • Each charging cart is assigned a letter-- A, B, C, D, E, F • Each iPad and case are numbered (A1, A2, A3, A4, ….) • Charging Cart • Number each slot • Number each charging cord
