  2. What is a Civilization? • An advanced state of human society, in which a high level of culture, science, industry, and government has been reached. • Examples are Egypt, Greece, & Rome.

  3. Civilization • To be considered a civilization, the 7 following requirements must be met: • Stable food supply • Social structure • System of government • Religious system • Highly developed culture • Advances in technology • Highly developed written language

  5. 2. Social Structure • What does it mean to have a social structure? • People at higher levels have greater status. Why?
