  2. 2012 IMPACT • SCMP: 50% decline in demand according to traders. Official shark fin imports down from 10,292 t.s in 2011 to 3,087 t.s to Nov. CNN producer said prices down by 40%. • Guangzhou marked decrease in stock. Prices for fins had declined by over 50% in the past year. • Late 2012 shark fin traders in Kaohsiung, Taiwan report fin prices had declined by as much as 60-80%. • Indonesia reports shark fishing boats no longer going to sea, going less frequently or shorter trips. Prices down by over 50%. Florida reports that is was becoming unprofitable to fish sharks.  Madagascar less permits requested.
