  4. WHY CONVERGENCE? • Mutual Strengthening (to support Cost Norms and to Increase Work Days) • Sense of Belongingness and Responsibility creates Sustainability • Additional Support to the Livelihood of the MGNREGA Workers • Proper Technical Support to Asset Creation

  5. SCOPE FOR CONVERGENCE • Water conservation and water harvesting • Drought proofing, including afforestation and plantation • Irrigation canals, including micro and minor irrigation works

  6. SCOPE FOR CONVERGENCE • Renovation of traditional water bodies • Land development • Flood control and protection works • Provision of irrigation to poor households

  7. STRATEGY FOR CONVERGENCE • Proper Coordination under one roof • Issuing required circulars at all levels • Regular information sharing mechanism through a Single Window • Common workshops and training programmes

  8. STRATEGY FOR CONVERGENCE • Channelizing human resources • Technology Reach at the Gross Root Level • Establishing consortium of institutions • SHG, SGSY, Shramik shakti Sangha • Streamlining Common Items Devoted Mutually to Both the Schemes (Funding and Workdays)
