John and Jenny DavidsonCarnarvon Aboriginal Outreach, W.A. • John and Jenny, Daniel and Matthew are from Shepparton. • He is now at Carnarvon. • We have supported them since 2007 • He is with Australian Aboriginal Outreach Ministries
There has been consistently a lot of funerals, strife, and sadness affecting families. • Crime, alcohol and youth unrest are big problems. • But the people are slowly putting their trust in God.
Many of the children don’t know why we have Christmas although they enjoy the amazing stories so we must concentrate on the New Testament teaching.
A researcher of several families in the community said to us that she could feel a difference in the people - like they had a meaning to life again.
Carnarvon Aborigines, post Mission days, have been left spiritually dry. • God is now bringing a refreshing. • One man put it this way, “I’m seeing God again in a different way to how I saw him when I was young. It’s good.”
CARNARVON CHRISTIAN ABORIGINAL CONVENTION • We then held Carnarvon’s first Christian Aboriginal Convention in 20 years. • There was much excitement in the community • Although small, the church people really got behind the meetings and attended every one.
After four years, we have 2 church meetings on Sunday, Wednesday prayer & bible study, and men’s & ladies bible studies. • It is a life changing experience not just for those people we are reaching out to, but for us also.
We finished 2012 off with Church by the river. Baptizing another 5 people. • We fed 70 people. Damper and Kangaroo was enjoyed by all.
Paul Anandan - Kalimantan Indonesia • We have supported Paul Anandan since 2002. • He was ship-wrecked here and recognised his life’s calling to the people of South Borneo in Indonesia. • He travels up the Kapuas River.
The tribal people there in the jungle areas are largely animist, worshipping paddy. • Indonesians from other districts are also introducing Islam to the region. So Paul’s pastor’s are placed there – often before the roads are built.
After Paul goes and pioneers in a village he places a pastor, or worker, there. Often a fresh bible school graduate • He currently preparing to place a worker up in the mountains to reach the 30 families who are gospel-ready, equipping a simple house that has been given for the fledgling church. • Then provide some starting support for the worker. • Once done he can organize the branches, and place workers there too. He has five workers ready for placing. • The work here has to move quickly.
Mission trip to Meratus Mountains • We showed 4 VCD's on Heaven and Hell, witch doctor receiving Jesus etc in a home which was full till 11.30pm. • The location is Meratus mountains, not far from Kandangan south kalimantan. • The village is DusundatarPacung. 30 families. No elementary school, no toilets • The local government is insisting on them to get ID's which would impose religious rules on them. If I can persuade them to put Christian – they will have freedom. Please pray that God would give me wisdom so that we would have a great harvest of souls.
