What is AIX? • IBM’s flavor of UNIX • Sun = Solaris, HP = HP-UX, IBM = AIX • Expected to be one of 4 dominant OS’s • AIX, Windows 2000, Solaris and HP-UX • AIX5L version 5.1 is the first VERITAS supported AIX environment • Foundation Suite • FlashSnap • Editions, Cluster Server and Volume Replicator • NBU 4.5 and other VERITAS products • Only NBU also supports AIX 4.3.3

How will VERITAS Solutions on AIX be supported? • VERITAS and IBM AIX/pSeries will have a Cooperative Support Agreement in place • VERITAS will train IBM Level 1 personnel on recognizing VERITAS products in customers environment to expedite support • VERITAS and IBM will define and implement a customer transfer process to “hand-over” customer and associated problems to appropriate support group • No finger pointing! • VERITAS will obtain IBM support endorsement that can be shown to customers • Support partnership authentication

What is the Rollout Plan for VERITAS on AIX? • VERITAS will announce and ship a wide range of AIX5.1 solutions in Q202 • English O/S and Application support ONLY • Non-node locked licenses • North American announcement at VERITAS VISION (April 30, 2002) • IBM is giving a keynote address in Dallas • Database Editions on AIX shipment will occur mid-year • Database Edition for Oracle9i • Database Edition for DB2 version 7.2 and later
