Building off the midterm… • Final paper will be an analysis of recent books about how the financial sector has changed (or not) since the crisis • Targeting books written from 2012-present • Midterm reviewed the following books: Diary of a Very Bad Year by Keith Gessen (2010) The Global Minotaur by YanisVaroufakis (2011/2013) Fool’s Gold by Gillian Tett (2010)

Building off the midterm… • Main thesis of midterm book review: • Financial crisis was both a political and economic one • Financial sector’s main goal is to make profits above all else • Weak political will for regulation and curbing risky practices due to government’s vested interests • Final paper will examine 3 recent books that address what, if any, changes have occurred in financial sector since the crisis • Will compare to previous analysis
