  2. Wound myiasis occurs when fly larvae infest open wounds. • In sheeps it is mostly caused by larvae of blowfly (calliphoridae) belonging to order diptera.

  3. History Presented 27-8-16 Sheep, Male, 1 year age Temperature: 103.7 F Pulse: 104 per minute Respiration: 60 per minute A cavity of 2.5 inch wide and 2 inch deep approx. beneath left horn Some ticks inside ears found History of animal fighting

  4. Management • Irrigation (KMn04 => 1:10000) • Chloroform (to facilitate maggots removal) • Manual removal of maggots • Debridement of necrosed tissues • Antiseptic dressing • Inj. Methapyrine 3 ml I/M for 2 days • Written medication

  5. Furacin cream • Ivomac 1ml • Penbiotic 1 gm 4 days • Neem oil • Vit. B 12 inj. • Panacort

  6. Irrigation

  7. Maggots

  8. Necrosed tissues

  9. Debridement

  10. Furacin cream application

  11. Gauze inserted in cavity

  12. Epithelialization starts

  13. Epithelialization

  14. Cont.

  15. Contraction phase
