EFFECTS TO FUTURE CONTRIBUTIONS National Strategy, aims and priority: • Continue presence in Afghanistan and in Balkan; • Priority of NATO operations; • More force to the Balkan; • Taking lead nation roles; • Taking part in high intensity operations; • More effective use of Budget; • Ambition level is 1000 troops abroad. NATO demand: Shifting focus from Balkan to ISAF, increase contribution to ISAF; EU demand: Participating in operations in Africa.
WAY AHEAD, CHALLANGES • Supply NATO High Readiness units with necessary equipment; • Carry out affiliation to NRDC Italy in 3 phase; • Keep the personnel, help the soldiers’ reintegration to civil society; • Postponed procurements and updates have negative effect to maintain important capabilities; • Bringing back arms and services which died out thanks for the military reforms; • Continue modernization programs like: helicopter, rifle, fighting vehicle, etc. • Procurement of modern high precision-, robot equipment, digital battle management systems, fire control systems, simulators.
