Session Objectives • Review current policy, guidance, and information concerning the implementation of IA into the acquisition process and into systems being acquired. • Assess the efficacy of the guidance in enabling the acquisition community and IA professionals to determine the appropriate approach. • Identify possible conflicts or voids in guidance • Document recommendations for future action to improve: • The policy/guidance • The process for implementing IA • The methods for communicating guidance
Session Agenda • “The Big Picture” A high level look at IA in acquisition, including: • Governing policy and guidance • Determining the IA compliance requirement [Does this program need IA? How much?] • Relationship between IA Strategy and DITSCAP & DCID/6-3 • IA considerations in other Acquisition Documentation (Requirements documents/Acquisition Strategy/TEMP) • “The IA Roadmap” A summary of the cradle-to grave activities for the notional acquisition program. This portion of the presentation will be keyed to the normal chronology of the acquisition process. • “The IA Strategy Document” A review of the OSD template. • Discussion and documentation of recommendations.
