FDR’s plan was called the New Deal. • It focused on the three R’s
Relief, Recovery and Reform • Relief – Provide immediate help to homeless and starving people. • Recovery – Programs to create jobs and get the economy moving again. • Reform – Programs to fix the problems that caused the Great Depression.
New Deal programs changed the U.S. economy by increasing government involvement in business and labor.
