  8. Treasurer Report – Financial Year 2018/19 • The financial year 2018/19 ended with a net profit of SGD64,566.00. Mainly due to accumulated profit across several programs and a capital reserve of SGD20,000.00.. • The executive committee have put in place a plan increase capital reserves to better match the association’s operating expenses. This will be discussed and made known soon. • Going forward we are confident that the accounting and financial systems that we have put in place over the past 12 months will ensure that the SIHA will remain in a solid financial position to allow the Association to meet its goals.

Approval of the 2019 Financial Accounts • Steps to Approval: • As per constitution: • Professional Auditor • Honorary Auditors (SIHA Members) • Members Feedback • Published • Status: • Professional Audit report completed • Honorary Auditors (HA) reviewed by SIHA member Sheena Yap, and Marcus Tang • Next Steps: • Report to be made available online and members can email questions or concerns to the Honorary Auditors, prior to Sunday, 5th October 2019 • If no irregularities are found by the members and Honorary Auditors, then the 2019 SIHA accounts are formally closed • If questions cannot be satisfactorily answered or irregularities are found then a review of the Accounts will be done and presented at an EGM

  14. Appoint Auditors for Fiscal Year 2019 • The Executive Committee proposes the re-appointment of S B Tan Audit PAC as our appointed auditors for fiscal year 2019 as they have better Industry Expertise, and able to help us to continually improve our operations.

President - Diana Foo • Self Introduction • I have been playing ice hockey since 14 years old and has since (2019) stepped down from the Women’s National Team. • Have been helping to coach the Women’s & Youth Girl’s Development Team since July 2019, Rink Learn-to-Play & Hwa Chong International School CCA. • I am a certified NROC Level 1 Coach, and a certified IIHF Game Official. • Why do you want to help? • To ensure that SIHA continue to grow the sport of ice hockey and look after the interests of both local and expatriates' players. • To commence the application process for our eventual participation in IIHF’s World Championships. • To ensure that the National Team Programs are all aligned and working cohesively to achieve good results at regional and international tournaments. • Why do you think that you’re suitable for the position? • I've seen the organization as it is (3 years ago when I left) and I've seen what works and what doesn't work, and I have ideas for how the organization should operate, and I want to put that operation and vision into practice.

  19. Treasurer - Yeong Mun Jun • Self Introduction • Hello, My name is Yeong Mun Jun, known to most as MJ. I have been playing ice hockey since I was 12 years old. I want to help by doing my part in growing Singapore ice hockey. • Why do you want to help? • To grow Singapore Ice Hockey Association through proper financial governance. • Why do you think that you’re suitable for the position? • I believe no one is ever ready for such an important role. With my upbringing in the business & financial environment and decades long of education in related field, I am certain that this opportunity will bring out the best of my ability.

  20. Secretary - Ryan Tan • Self Introduction • My name is Ryan Tan, and I have been playing ice hockey since I was 10 years old. Currently a member of the Men’s National Team. • Why do you want to help? • To assist SIHA to grow the sport of ice hockey and look after the interests of both local and expatriates’ players. • To ensure that SIHA’s Constitution are upheld and members abide by it. • Why do you think that you’re suitable for the position? • I want to offer and give my service back to the community where I first started to learn and play ice hockey (from Ice Dragons to National Team). • I can help and offer my suggestion to SIHA committees whenever it is needed.

  21. VP Marketing & Communication - Ann Ng • Self Introduction • Hi! I’m Ann, a hockey parent • Why do you want to help? • As ice hockey is relatively a sport less well known and supported in Singapore, I would like to play a part in increasing awareness and promote this sport as an awesome sport that you can play competitively or even as a leisure • Why do you think that you’re suitable for the position? • Being a local who had lived overseas for awhile before, it’s an advantage for communicating with locals and our foreigner friends. In addition, Marketing is also part of my education background, it’ll come into use for this position too 

  22. Women’s Development Director - Michael Loh • Self Introduction • I have been playing ice hockey since 1996 and over the years, Captain the Men’s Team from 2008 till 2017 where I stepped down from National Team. • I have also been coaching at Club level (Blizzards, SWIHC), Women’s National Team, Rink Learn-to-Play & Hwa Chong International School CCA. • I am a certified NROC Level 2 (Theory) Coach, and a certified IIHF Game Official. • Why do you want to help? • To rejuvenate the aging squad, I am looking forward to working with all SIHA programs to identify suitable youth players (girls) to create a feeder squad. • To work with the Men’s & Youth National Teams on a combined training program that will bring up the skill level of the Women’s National Team. • To help prepare the Women’s National Team for WCCOA, Manila in year 2020. • Why do you think that you’re suitable for the position? • I have been working with the team and supporting the various programs through coaching to identify potential participants to join the community.

  23. Women’s Development Director - Lim Wen Lin • Self Introduction • Hello, I am Wen Lin. I have been playing ice hockey for almost 9 years now. I was playing inline hockey before transitioning to ice after the Tampines rink closed.  I am currently working as a freelance photographer.  • Why do you want to help? • I have a huge passion for hockey and would like to push and expand women's hockey in Singapore. The development of the sport is a major issue that women's hockey is facing. • Why do you think that you’re suitable for the position? • As a female player, I believe that I'm better equipped to assess the needs of the present national development program and identify potential issues that may arise.

  24. Youth Development Director - Ian Douglas • Self Introduction • I am a Canadian expat with around 8 years of time here in Singapore. My wife and I’s two kids are active in the ice hockey community and we travel to most tournaments. I have played hockey for roughly 38 years (and still do in men’s league) and coached hockey for 10 years. I am Hockey Canada certified coach Level I and Respect in Sport (sportsmanship focus). I am a huge hockey fan with a love of the modern game. Go Flames Go! • Why do you want to help? • I want to grow ice hockey from a niche sport done by expats kids into one where the local community is the majority of youth players. • Why do you think that you’re suitable for the position? • I think the work I have done already in the Ice Dragons program and supporting the Youth teams through coaching and competitive training has shown my commitment and respect for the ideals above.

  27. Men’s National Team 2019 • 2017 marked the inaugural representation of Ice Hockey and the Men’s National Ice Hockey Team at the Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games). Team Singapore Ice Hockey finished fourth overall in their debut SEA Games and has a team with average age of 31.55 • Ice Hockey in 2019 SEA Games is confirmed earlier this year by Philippines’s NOC. The squad this year will be a team averaging 27.65in age. • This SEAGAMES 2019 squad targets to play as a team in the winter league leading up to below tournaments. • SEAGAMES 2019 (Manila, Philippines) 1st - 8th December 2019 • U-20 CCOA 2020 (Bangkok, Thailand) 10th - 15th February 2020 • CCOA 2020 (JCube, Singapore) 27th April - 1st May 2020

  29. Coaches’ Development Programme • Improve the standard and increase the number of certified Ice Hockey Coaches in Singapore. Develop a standardised training programme for all players. • Develop an Ice Hockey Coach Certification Programme • Current players/coaches who have gone for IIHF camps to collaborate with CoachSG to develop the integrated programme (Practical & Theory) • Various Coaching Certification (Level 1, 2, 3) • Coaches in the Programme to be Team Managers for SIHA Leagues to get the necessary experience • Develop a standardised training programme for all players • Based on playing years and skill levels • Collaboration by current players/coaches who have gone for IIHF camps • Goalie Coaches’ Development Programme & Goalies Training Programme in progress by Stephen Kyriakou (2019 IIHF Women’s Goalie Development Camp in June)

Youth Program • The SIHA youth development program is dedicated to teaching the FUNdamentals of ice hockey to all any child interested in the sport. • 136 Players • 5 - 16 years of age • 22 Nationalities: 19% Singaporeans • 9 hours a week of on-ice youth ice hockey development • Volunteer-led program with a passion to provide the best ice hockey program in Singapore • Traveling teams are planning to participate in tournaments in Phuket, Hong Kong & Bangkok. The Singapore Ice Dragons will be following the American Development Model (ADM), the USA Hockey’s player-development program for youth hockey associations.  Age-appropriate, age-specific competition and training for boys and girls, beginning with their first steps onto the ice and carrying them through age 18 and beyond. Heightened emphasis on skill development and long-term athlete development principles, providing a blueprint for the best possible youth hockey experience.   Ice Dragons Program Offering: Academy Training -- Skill Development with 5 Levels according by Age, from fundamental through to Jr. Adult training programs. Selects Junior & Senior Teams: The Foundation for Tournament Teams and player nomination through inaugural player tryouts. NEW

Leagues • The National Ice Hockey League • The NIHL brings ice hockey players of varying levels and backgrounds together through their love of the sport. • Summer Season • May - August 2019 • 3 Divisions • 168 players • 15 + 1 games per player • Winter Season • October - April 2019/20 • 3 Divisions • 240 players • 20 + 1 games per player NIHL WINTER 2019/20 LEAGUE SCHEDULE

Accounting at SIHA Implemented changes (2018/2019) • Continuation of all transactions through DBS on-line transaction system (stop using cheques) • Implemented Quickbook Cloud Accounting , that allows us to easily keep track of real time project costs. • Appointed S B Tan Audit PAC to be our auditor who has better Industry Expertise, and able to help us to continually improve our operations. • Plans for FY 2019-2020: • The director of each program are obligated to act "in good faith," and shall manages and monitor those risks and losses exposures • Work closely with the director to ensure appropriate measures are implemented in a timely and effective manner. • Succession planning needed to increases the availability of experienced and capable member that are prepared to assume these roles as they become available.

  34. Day-To-Day Operations Of Our Charity Implemented changes (2018/2019) • From time to time, SIHA MC Members will need to review and update the governing instrument of the charity to ensure that it remains relevant. Such amendments need to be approved by the respective agencies : •  Office of Commissioner of Charities (COC) or Sector Administrators (SAs); and •  Accounting and Corporate Regulatory Authority of Company (ACRA); or •  Registry of Society (ROS) • Charities and IPCs are required to inform the Commissioner of Charities (COC) or Sector Administrators (SAs) within 7 days if there is any change in their particulars (e.g. change in Board members, key officers or Authorised Personnel). When there are changes in persons accessing the Portal, charities and IPCs may contact their respective Sector Administrators for assistance to delete obsolete user access accounts. This will help avoid unauthorised access to charities / IPCs' records.  • Certain updates such as addition and removal of governing board members and change of name or registered address of the charity or IPC will have to be updated through lodgement with Accounting and Corporate Regulatory Authority of Company (ACRA) or Registry of Society (ROS) • Charities and IPCs need to notify COC or SAs for changes in: • Composition of the governing board; • Personal details of governing board members; •  Address of each immovable property; • Appointment of trustees; and • Any other organisational details such as key officers and contact information.
