  2. OBJECTIVES • Provide an avenue for students to acquire industrial skill and experience. In order to prepare students for future work after graduation, so as to be able to handle equipment, tools, instrument and machinery, • Provide student with opportunities to apply theoretical knowledge in real work situation.

  3. The Role of Institutions • SIWES Unit, Master and Placement List • Orientation Programme • Work out INDUSTRIAL TAILOR MADE PROGRAMME WITH THE EMPLOYER BASED SUPERVISOR • Supervise Students on attachment, Discuss with them and sign their log books • Asses Students Performance and Award Grades After IT Defense, Submission of Log Books and IT Reports

  4. ROLE OF STUDENTS • Be regular and punctual at respective place of attachment • Comply with the employers rules and regulation • Keep proper records of training activities and other assignments in the logbook • Arrange their own living accommodation. • Submit to ITF: • Through their employer form SPE1 • Through their institutions the evaluation report form 8

  5. THE ROLE OF EMPLOYER • Accept Students for on the job training • Attach experienced staff to students for effective training • Control and discipline students like permanent staff • Follow joint tailor made programmes during the period of IT • Visit of representative of ITF and institution based supervisors • Grade Students as provided in assessment form and ITF form 8 at the end of the programme.
