Levels of Review UAFT • Extended campus director • Department Chair (if there is one) • College peer-review committee • Dean File submitted each year until tenured
Levels of Review UNAC • Department chair at the request of the dean (if tenured) • Dean File submitted each year until tenured
Fourth Year Comprehensive UNAC • Department chair (if tenured) • College peer-review committee • Dean • University-wide Faculty Evaluation Committee • Provost • Chancellor (optional at faculty member’s request)
Performance Expectations • Retention – potential for success Does the submitted file demonstrate future success? • Fourth Year Comprehensive Does the submitted file demonstrate the faculty member is progressing toward promotion and tenure?
What to include in file • Vita • Self Review • Past Reviews • Workload for the review year(s) • Annual activity report • Student course evaluations (IDEA) • Course syllabi • Verification of degree
Due dates • UNAC files are due to the dean by September 5th • UAFT files are due to the dean/director by September 28th
What NOT to include • Meaningless documents that take up space • PLASTIC PAGE PROTECTORS • Binders that are too small • Boxes instead of binders
Are there examples to look at? • Yes, several files are here today • There are files in CAFÉ • Your deans office can suggest a colleague who had a successful file, use other faculty • Ask questions • Contact your union
