Things Are Changing • The Matching Grant Program was established in 1965 • From 1965 to 2000 (35 years) only 10,000 Matching Grants were awarded • From 2000 to 2010 (10 years) another 10,000 Matching Grants were awarded • The model is unsustainable Future Vision Update

What is a District Grant • Projects that don’t qualify for Global Grants • Can be local or international • Requires a partner – does not have to be a Rotarian partner • Must be in one of the six areas of focus • Sustainability is strongly encouraged • Administered by the District • Matching is $0.50 to $1.00 Future Vision Update
Types of Projects that Qualify • Sledge for Powder Hounds • Carpeting for Ozanam House • Art supplies for a local program • Scholarships • Vocational training teams • Travel for volunteers • Disaster recovery Future Vision Update
Funding for a District Grant • 1. Club Generated Contribution $10,000 • 2. District Match (DDF $0.50 : $1) $ 5,000 • 3. TRF World Fund Match $ 0 Total Funding $15,000 Future Vision Update
What is a Global Grant • Larger projects – must be > $30,000 • Includes an International and a Host Rotary club working in partnership • Must be in one of the six areas of focus • Must meet the qualifications for sustainability • Requires a Needs Assessment • Administered by the clubs and TRF only – NO District involvement in decisions Future Vision Update

What Do We Do Now? • Get qualified as a club • Two individuals attend Grant Management Training Seminar per year (October 13, 2012) • Sign Club MOU with the District • Consider the organization of the various committees – Donations and WCS • Identify projects early – The District needs to know what we want to do Future Vision Update
