  3. Flashbacks, Dreams, Violence and Baba’s Character In the “close reading” of literature the object is to choose specific elements to analyze and interpret. In Ch. 10 you will be reading for: Flashbacks and Dreams Violence in war (justified or not) Baba’s character You should record the page number and a section of the passage you select (a quote). Ex. The soviet soldier asks for half an hour with the lady in Karim’s truck (to rape her-this is violence in war)
