Using the Calculator… • You will be using the sin, cos, and tan buttons on your calculator. You must have a scientific calculator! • You may also need to use the 2nd button.
finding the trig ratio if you know the angle • If you know the angle, press the trig function followed by the angle measure, then press enter. • Round your answers to the nearest hundredth.
Examples • Ex. 1 sin 30° = • Ex. 2 cos 45° = • Ex. 3 tan 120°
Finding the angle if you know the trig ratio • You must press the 2nd button before the trig function! • Then type the ratio and press enter. • The ratio can be a fraction or a decimal. • Round your angles to the nearest degree.
