16. Setting the table • Local response agencies and services have the legislated, statutory and jurisdictional authority • There are a few exceptions; • Federally • War, Terrorism • Provincially • Provincially declared Emergencies, Public Health

Setting the table • Provincial assistance is deployed only upon request of a Municipality; • The municipal Community Emergency Management Coordinator can request assistance from the Provincial Emergency Operations Centre • A municipality cannot directly request federal assistance, but; • The Province can go to the Federal level to get that assistance for a municipality • In veryrarecircumstances, • will the province come in • and direct the response.
