Project Nominated Inspector FSN Local Superintendent Liaison Garda Family
Purpose of Strategy • Provide Practical Safety Information. • Provide advice in relation to threats. • Provide Drug support services information. • Outline the procedure for formal complaint. • Agreed Strategy between parties on how to proceed.
Purpose of Strategy • To provide a single point of contact. • Ensure a confidential and effective means of dealing with reports of intimidation. • Provide families with sufficient support from An Garda Siochana. • Formulate Policy
Functions of Nominated Inspectors • Liaises with the local District Officer and monitors the progress of the investigation of any alleged intimidation/threats by local personnel. • Ensures the appointment of a liaison person to work with the family concerned. • The documenting of all actions taken during the course of the process.
Communications between Liaison Gardai and Family • Agreed Location in advance • Telephone or Direct Contact • Confidential. • Advice given. • Course of Action decided by both parties.
