النَّعْتُ The Adjective A noun qualified by an adjective is called مَنْعُوتٌwhile the adjective is called نَعْتٌ. The adjective follows the noun. Examples: Masculine: Feminine: Arabic Language MCMC 2007
النَّعْتُ The Adjective When referring to a person, كَبِيرٌ means “old” while قَدِيمٌ means “long standing.”

الْمَعْرِفَةُ وَالنَّكِرَةُ Definite & Indefinite الْمَعْرِفَةُ definite النَّكِرَةُ indefinite Tanwīnshows that a noun is indefinite. Tanwīnis dropped when the definite article (أَلْ) is present, leaving one Damma at the end. Since أَلْ begins with HamzatulWasl, it is elided when it comes after any word and is written as: ﭐ Arabic Language MCMC 2007
