  4. County Board of Commissioners • Power to make laws & enforce in county • Serve as Exec. & Leg. Branch • 5 Commissioners • Each represents different district in county • Elected & Serve 4 yr. terms • Meets weekly

  5. County Board of Commissioners • Duties • Watch over towns & cities in county • Oversee county budget • County Buildings • Services • Plowing snow country roads • Registering voters • Marriage/Drivers licenses • Sheriffs/Courts • Build Bridges & roads • Oversee rural libraries

  14. County Sheriff • Responsible for maintaining peace and enforcing law in rural areas of county and in towns and villages not having police departments • Terry Wagner

  15. County Treasurer • Receives all money collected by the county • Collects and distributes all taxes for county, school districts, and special districts • Andy Stebbing
