What am I learning today? • Students will present their flip book warm-up routines for a pre-assessment evaluation that will develop their sense of physical, vocal, mental and emotional aspects of acting. • Students will conduct a group analyze the script of Shakespeare In Love • Students will continue to deduce the information they know about stress, the new information they learn about stress and the information they will share about stress from the National Geographic documentary, Stress: Portrait of a Killer 1st Block Wednesday, Sept. 20th, 2017

Opening: Kahoot Review Warm-Ups • Standards: Acting by developing, communicating, and sustaining roles within a variety of situations and environments .a Examines the voice, body, and imagination as tools of the actor .b Explores observation, research, cultural development, and personal experience as potential resources available to the actor .c Implements the tools and resources of acting in the development and presentation of formal and informal monologues and scenes • Purpose: To review the previously discussed material concerning warm-ups to prepare for Friday’s post-test • Instructions of Activity: • Using your Smart Phone or other Smart device go to www.kahoot.com • Log in using the pin number for the game. • Enter your first name and the initial of your last name. Please no nicknames.

Work Session: Lydia Heino, Aaron Holmes, Canon Jackson & Tinia JamesWarm-Up Routine Purpose: To demonstrate you and your group’s knowledge of what a warm-up should contain and how it should be conducted. Standards: Acting by developing, communicating, and sustaining roles within a variety of situations and environments. • Examines the voice, body, and imagination as tools of the actor • Explores observation, research, cultural development, and personal experience as potential resources available to the actor • Implements the tools and resources of acting in the development and presentation of formal and informal monologues and scenes • Demonstrates non-verbal elements of acting (e.g. posture, facial expression, physical movement) Activity Instructions: • The students that are conducting the warm-up routine will be evaluated by you and themselves using the rubric to the right. • The conducting students will also be evaluating you on a scale of 0-10 on how cooperative, respectful and attentive you are to what they are leading. • A jury of 2-3 students will share their evaluations of the presenting students. 1st Block Wednesday, Sept. 20th, 2017

Work Session: Shakespeare in Love Script Reading • Purpose: To continue reading, analyzing and discussing the script Shakespeare in Love. • Standard: Analyzing and constructing meaning from theatrical experiences, dramatic literature, and electronic media .a Engages in script analysis and study as a means of actor preparation .b Utilizes evidence provided by the script to support decisions in characterization .c Uses script analysis in the development of presentation of formal and informal theatre performances • Instructions: • In your table groups assign roles from the script and read. • The director of the group should keep track of the characters each member at the table is reading.
