Whether you’re an accountant or a business owner, if you’re using QuickBooks, it’s necessary that you reconcile your credit cards in QuickBooks. This helps you ensure that all the financial records are up-to-date and accurate.
1. Firstly, from the top menu, head toward the “Banking” section and click “Reconcile.”
2. Then, from the “Account” field, select the credit card or bank account you wish to reconcile
3. Next, the “Statement Date” will be filled in automatically. Make changes so it matches your statement.
4. Also, QB is known to enter the Beginning Balance automatically.
5. After that, type in your “Ending Balance” mentioned in the statement.
6. Now, type in your “Interest Earned” and “Service Charge” mentioned in the statement. Also, avoid adding charges that you have already typed in.
