Ontology Summarization Based on RDF Sentence Graph Written by: Xiang Zhang, Gong Cheng, Yuzhong Qu Presented by: Sophya Kheim
Problem • The problem the paper is addressing is the importance of Ontology Summarization to understand and select ontologies. • The problem interesting because there is no published work on ontology summarization
Solution • RDF Sentence Builder • Ontology • Length • Preference • Graph Builder • Builds RDF Sentence Graphs • Describes links between RDF Sentences • Salience Assessor • Ranks RDF sentences based the link analysis of the graph • “Centrality” • Re-ranker • Produces final summary • Ranking algorithm reduces redundancy and enhances coherence
Criticism • Interesting because there currently is no published work on ontology summarization • Since there was no published work on ontology summarization, they had to evaluate their ontology summarization based on text summarization and not other ontology summarizations
Relation to Class • Semantic Web and Ontology • Determining the salience of RDF sentences using “centrality” • Social Networks • PageRank • Authorities/Hubs
