The origin of the word The word 'Rococo' is derived from the French "rocaille", a word used to describe the rock and shell work of the Versailles grottoes. Many pieces of carved furniture dating from the 18th century—in particular, mirror frames—depict rocks, shells, and dripping water in their composition, frequently in association with Chinese figures and pagodas.
What are the typical features of the style? • Interior spaces were bright and full of light • The style was ornate and made strong usage of creamy, pastel-like colours, asymmetrical designs, curves and gold • Rooms were decorated with paintings and porcelain • Rococo rooms were designed as total works of art with elegant and ornate furniture, small sculptures, ornamental mirrors, andtapestry complementing architecture, reliefs, and wall paintings. • The paintings often featured love scenes • Artists showed nature and exotic motives • The interiors and decoration were cheerful and furnishings fine

Sanssouci is the former summer palace of Frederick the Great, King of Prussia, in Potsdam, near Berlin.
Kinský Palace was originally built for the Golz family in the 18th century.[1][2] It was designed by KilianIgnazDientzenhofer. It is Rococo in design. The exterior is stucco. It is painted pink and white. The palace is now used as an art museum by the National Gallery, Prague.
