Digital printing has limited number of colors?

  2. Four-color process digital printing utilizes traditional CMYK inks to produce most full-color print jobs. The four colors – cyan magenta yellow key (black) are known as the subtractive primaries

  3. Ink that is black in colour can be created by combining the colours cyan, magenta, and yellow (CMY), but the addition of a fourth colour (K) allows for the reproduction of a "genuine" black to be achieved.

  4. MYGENTEC Adding a "real" black to classic CMY leads in a much more accurate portrayal of black prints when compared to using only CMY.

  5. It is also more cost-effective to do so because 3 inks do not need to be combined in order to make a single hue.

  6. As a result, the transition to four-color process printing has grown increasingly common.
