But each of them are special. There are four categories when it comes to posture. Let’s learn about each of them and their significance. Sitting posture:

  2. Most common type of ganesh idol Commonly found in houses and offices Represents Ganesh in deep meditation while looking over the family Types of sitting postures include cross legged or with one foot on the ground Standing posture: Most common used idol of Ganesh where guests arrive, in both houses and office. The standing posture of “abhanga” is the most popular. Signifies rigidity and right attitude Types include a two bends or three bends in his posture. Also in some he rests his leg over his vehicle, the mouse. Dancing posture: Not seen commonly in houses or offices Often signifies the dance of destruction He is often seen to dance on his vehicle, the mouse. Signifies the power of the blessing of lord Ganesh, because of which even though being very small, the mouse could easily endure the dance of destruction by Ganesh.
