Blog 1 –Mystarautoglass.ca Factors Responsible For Auto Glass Damage Auto glass and windshields are one of the most fragile parts of an automobile as compared to the chassis which is made of metal or a composite. When the windshield of your vehicle gets damaged, it must be repaired as soon as possible, because it hampers with visibility. You must know the common situations which cause the auto glass and windshield to get damaged so that you can prevent it. Firstly, if you are driving on a road which has a lot of gravel, it would be prudent to maintain some distance from the car going ahead of you, as the debris flying from its wheels is likely to get your windshield. The same thing happens when you are driving behind a construction vehicle and debris falling from it hits the windshield of your vehicle. Secondly, an accident can cause the windshield to get damaged. For an example, being hit by a ball on the windshield can damage it. This, however, is not in the driver’s control. Furthermore, environmental factors also affect the auto glass. A sudden increase in the temperature can cause the glass to expand while it is being held by rubber and metal which develops compressive force on the glass, and can shatter it. Similarly a sudden decrease in temperature can cause the glass to contract making it susceptible to damage. Another factor is that which can be termed as human ignorance. If the installation of the windshield or auto glass has not been done properly, damage is highly likely. To ensure your auto glass remains healthy, go to windshield repair in Cambridge, Ontario
