Nowadays - finally - Madrid rests self assured with world class museums and architecture.

  5. Prado Museum is the main Spanish national art museum, located in central Madrid. It features one of the world's finest collections of European art, dating from the 12th century to the early 19th century, based on the former Spanish Royal Collection, and unquestionably the best single collection of Spanish art.

  7. Las Meninas is a 1656 old painting by Diego Velázquez, the leading artist of the Spanish Golden Age. The word “Menina” means “Maid of Honour”, i.e. a girl who serves in a royal court.
