Reminders • All school leadership teams should have completed the three RTI trainings for school faculty • If not, should be completed in pre-school planning • Don’t forget you have a copy of the powerpoints, notes for presentation, and enough copies for your faculty. These were provided by the District RTI Team.

Law Review, cont. • March 2009, SLD State Rule change • July 1, 2010, SLI State Rule change • July 1, 2010, State law indicates RTI must be implemented
Tier I • School Data Teams are responsible for analyzing the data at this level • There are no specific forms for Tier 1
Tier II • Progress Monitoring Plan (PMP) will still be used at the Tier II level. • The PMP is still required by state law for specific students. • Not all students who have a PMP are Tier II students. • The decision about who is a Tier II student is based on both school and specific student data.
Tier II, Cont. • A Tier II Worksheet has been created for Tier II students. • The purpose of the form is to assist with data collection. • Tier II interventions should run for a minimum of 6 weeks with 4 data points (baseline plus three OPM’s) Note: OPM’s are mini-assessments of skills, not chapter test scores or overall grades
Forms at Tier II Level • PMP • Tier II Worksheet • Student Record Review Revised to document current district required testing and to add more space • Vision/Hearing Screening Form • No changes • Developmental Social History • Minor changes--added a question regarding student’s strengths/talents
Tier II Behavior • If behavior is the primary concern, the ERASE form will be completed instead of the Tier II Worksheet. • Behavior data is tracked daily & graphed • Involve your school psychologist at this level Note: ERASE form was presented at RTI training in April (form found in District RTI manual)
Forms used across Tiers Observation Form • Moved off of the Tier III form • Can be completed in Tier II prior to Tier III meeting or during Tier III • Added language concerns
Forms used across Tiers • No screening is required at any level in the Tier process (including speech/ language screening) • However, it may be requested at any time on the new Diagnostic/Screening Form
Diagnostic/Screening Form • The purpose of diagnostics/screeners is to assist with intervention design/modification • May be used across Tiers to assist with intervention design/modification • Parent consent is not required; however, they must be invited to all meetings and informed of the process
If requested….. • Person(s) responsible for testing must be consulted regarding the request. • RTI Facilitator will be responsible for giving the designated testing person(s) the Diagnostic/Screening Form with the Student Record Review and a passed Vision/Hearing Screening.
Tier III • Based on data analysis teachers will request a Tier III meeting from the RTI Facilitator • At the meeting, the Tier III form will be completed • If behavior is the main concern, a FBA and PBIP must be completed at this time
Tier III, Cont. Tier III Form Changes • More room to write • Added prediction statement • Added benchmark level data
Tier III Data Collection • Academic interventions will be assessed with weekly OPM’s and continue for a minimum of nine weeks • Behavior data is collected daily Reminder: OPM’s are mini-assessments of skills not chapter tests or overall grades
New Form at Tier III Intervention Documentation Log (IDL) • In order to assess fidelity of interventions, the IDL must be completed for teacher directed intervention (ie, Triple I) during Tier III • This form will also assist with documenting the amount of intervention time received and absences and/or tardies
Tier III, Cont. • The Observation and/or Diagnostic Screening Form can also be used. • Graphing may be completed with Excel, Chart Dog, Create a Graph, or any other computer format, or it can be done by hand. • A landscape graph was developed in order to assist with manual graphs, if needed.
Tier III Review Form • Tier III Review form replaces the Tier IV form • Completed during Tier III Review meeting
Tier III Review • Prior to meeting, OPM data must be graphed and all forms completed. • At this meeting, all data will be analyzed to determine a student’s response to instruction/intervention • Positive, Questionable or Poor
Positive Response • Continue intervention as currently implemented • Fade out intervention
Questionable • Increase frequency/intensity of intervention • Modify interventions • Additional data needed Note: If interventions are increased or modified, document on the Supplemental Tier Form
Poor • Reassess hypothesis and interventions and document on Supplemental Tier Form To Refer or Not to Refer? • RTI Team determines need for comprehensive evaluation
Referral • If a request for a comprehensive evaluation is made and consent is granted; interventions, OPM’s, and graphing continue. • Procedural Safeguards must be given to the parent upon signing for an evaluation • OPM graphed data must be brought to the eligibility staffing

Speech and Language Rule Change • Language Impaired (LI) Rule changed July 1,2010 • LI Rule mirrors SLD rule with RTI process required
