EARLY YEARS… Jordan played basketball for Laney High School in Wilmington, North Carolina. Jordan was cut from the varsity team as a sophomore
College Years… “Nothing but net!” Jordan accepted a basketball scholarship from the University of North Carolina. He made the game-winning jump shot in the 1982 NCAA Championship game against Georgetown Hoyas.
Entering the NBA… Averaging 28.2 points per game, was named Rookie of the Year, and also made the All-Star team. Jordan entered the NBA in 1984. He was selected third in the draft pick by the Chicago Bulls. Jordan played in the 1992 summer Olympics with the original Dream Team.
NBA Highlights Jordan lifted off from the free throw line, slammed it down to win the 1988 Slam Dunk title. Hit the game-winning shot in the 1998 Finals to win a 6th & final championship. Eight playoff games with 50 pts. or more.
