Core 40 with Academic Honors Diploma Requirements • Complete all requirements for Core 40 • Earn 2 additional Core 40 math credits • Earn 6-8 Core 40 world language credits • Earn 2 Core 40 fine arts credits • Earn a grade of “C” or above in courses that count toward the diploma • Have a cumulative GPA of a “B” or above • AND…

Core 40 with Academic Honors Diploma Requirements • AND… Complete one of the following: • Four credits in AP courses and take AP exams • Academic, transferable dual HS/college courses resulting in 6 college credits • Two credits in AP courses and AP exam and academic, transferable dual HS/college courses resulting in 3 college credits • 1200 combined SAT math & critical reading • 26 composite on ACT • An International Baccalaureate Diploma

  12. Core 40 with Technical Honors Diploma Requirements • Complete all requirements for Core 40, and • Earn grade of “C” or above in courses that count toward the diploma, and • Have a GPA of “B” or above, and • Complete a career-technical program resulting in 8-10 credits, and • AND...

Core 40 with Technical Honors Diploma Requirements • Complete TWO of the following – one of which must be A or B: • Take three specific WorkKey assessments and score at a designated level; • Earn six dual high school/college credits in atechnical area; • Complete either the Professional Career Internship course, a Coop Course, or a specified work-based learning experience; • Earn a state approved industry certification.

High Test Scores = Scholarship $ Indiana University Excellence Scholarship Award: $9,000 per year School: Indiana University Major: Any Criteria: Students with SAT score of 1350 (CR & MATH) or above or ACT composite of 31 or above and a minimum GPA of 3.8, will receive an IU Excellence Scholarship at the time of admission. Deadline: Must have complete application file to IU by November 1st. Indiana University Prestige Scholarships Award: $3,000 per year School: Indiana University Major: Any Criteria: Students with SAT score of 1250 (CR & MATH) or above or ACT composite of 28 or above and a minimum GPA of 3.7 will receive an IU Prestige Scholarship at the time of admission. Deadline: Must have complete application file to IU by November 1st.

  30. Points to Ponder…. • Admission Decision is made based upon freshman, sophomore, and junior years of high school. • Senior year is last preparatory year before college level work (rigor of senior year schedule) • Colleges want students to take some type of math senior year

Points to Ponder (cont.)…. • Honors courses=Stronger Test Scores Often times, test score is what gets you considered for scholarships • Some colleges will re-calculate your GPA based only on your grades in high school English, Math, Science, Social Studies, and Foreign Language courses. (Purdue/UE)

Points to Ponder (cont.)…. • VU requires one year of high school chemistry for all Health Occupations majors • Recommend students create resume and update throughout high school; include extra-curricular activities, honors, awards, leadership positions held, employment, volunteer activities, community involvement

  34. 21st Century Scholars • If you are a 21st Century Scholar, some private schools will cover remaining tuition not covered by award. • IU & Purdue provide financial assistance for housing, if you are a 21st Century Scholar & meet eligibility requirements. • Must have 2.5 GPA to receive 21st Century Scholarship • Guaranteed full tuition scholarship
