Major Effort by AFA to highlight Our Relevance to the Blue-Suit Community • Part of our “support” mission • Leverage support for AF Families to highlight our mission • Use current pro-military climate to encourage membership • Blue-suit members • AF Families • Non-traditional members from local communities

  3. Areas of emphasis • Support for Airmen and their families • Education of military children • Support for wounded airmen • Assist families of deployed personnel

  5. Where are we ? • Worked with AFA HQ and AF-A1 to determine whether there were AF-wide requirements • Concluded that the program needed to be Chapter-specific • Have polled Chapters to gauge status of current programs

  6. Where are we headed? • Catalogue our “success stories” • Use Newsline and other VCFO communications to create cross-talk of successful ideas • Get Chapters involved in Wounded Airman Program as opportunities arise • Work through AFA Staff to find new opportunities

  7. What Can You Do To Help? • Encourage your Chapters to get involved • Look for targets of opportunity • Funding and participating in CCAF graduation exercises since AF funding has dried up • Engage Key Spouse organization at local Chapter Level • Use Family Programs to recruit Community Partners
