An Introductory Activity. You have 24 square tiles that you want to arrange in the shape of a rectangle (in such a way that the rectangle is completely filled with tiles). Describe all the possible arrangements. What is the significance of each of these arrangements?How would you use the arrangements to discover the factors of 24 (think like a child who doesn't know factors yet)? Explain your reasoning in terms of the meaning of multiplication in terms of groups. .
