  3. “That Bit of Help…..” • Inquiry into older people’s services, but relevant to other groups too • “Baker’s Dozen” of services that benefit older people e.g. • Providing exercise • Welcome home from hospital (Cotswold CVS the named example) • befriending

The Local Dimension Our core purpose in the Community & Adult Care Directorate is to work with communities to help strengthen them and to enable individuals within them to live safe and satisfying lives. We will do this within available resources by: • providing access to universal learning and cultural services • ensuring that those with particular needs are supported both from within the community and by organised social and health care services  This should ensure that people can make decisions about their own lives and that we can make the vision of independence, well-being and choice a reality for people in Gloucestershire.
