A mole used in chemistry There is such a thing called mole day! Celebrated annually on October 23 from 6:02 a.m. to 6:02 p.m.
A.k.a Avagadro’s Number This was first discovered by Amedeo Avogadro (1776-1858) and he received credit for this after his death.

Professor Mole's Mole Facts 6.02 X 1023 of the following items: Watermelon Seeds - would be found inside a melon slightly larger than the moon Donut Holes- would cover the earth and be 5 miles deep Grains of Sand- would be more than all the sand on Miami Beach Blood Cells- would be more than the total number of blood cells found in every human on earth 1 Liter bottle of Water contains 55.5 moles H20 5 Pound Bag of Sugar contains 6.6 moles Of C12H22O11 There are 3 types of moles that live underground in North America: Eastern Mole, Hairy-Tailed Mole and Star-Nosed Mole
MOLES • Because atoms are so tiny we must work with • huge quantities of them when we measure out a sample • The quantity we use is a mole 1 mole = 602,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 or 1 mole = 6.02 x 1023 • This long (weird) number allows us to retain mass numbers whether working with a single atom of the • element or a full mole of the element
MOLES 13 27 20 40 1 atom = 27 amu (atomic mass unit) 27 amu = 1 atom 1mole of Al = 27 grams Al C • .5 mole = 20 grams • 1 mole = 40 grams • 2 mole = 80 grams • 2.5 mole=100 grams ½ or .5 moles = 6.02 divided by 2 = 3.01 x 1023 (remove the exponent to do this)
22.4 liters equal to Atomic mass (grams) 1 MOLE equal to equal to 6.02 x 1023 Individual atoms
