  12. What can be done to move rp food exports forward?

  13. Amid the global recession, how can agri- food export sector reposition themselves to survive in and grow in a weak market and uncertain global market? In the immediate term, the sector must study the key markets more. We need to invest in Strategic and Tactical Market Intelligence. Create a think tank for advanced strategic thinking on global competitiveness and trends. Expand the use of the Agricultural Competiveness Enhancement Fund ( ACEF)

  14. What short and medium term measures and the macro and industry level needed to make Phils. an agri-food export champion?

  15. What should be instituted now to take off global upturn in a year or two? On the trade front, exploit bilateral Agreements such as JPEPA. Aggressively work on the immediate release of the Php1.0 billion Export Support Fund. Intensify production of export winner crops, increase productivity and learn more on cost reducing technologies. Make ACEF funds easily accessible to upgrade processing plants.

  18. Conclusion Change drivers include globalization and trade liberalization; a revolution in retailing led by supermarkets—the latest in a series of challenges associated with increasing concentration of ownership by global agribusiness firms; heightened consumer awareness on food safety and international standards, and advances in technology.

  19. Conclusion Food is essential commodity and less affected by recession. And this is precisely the reason why we should give priority to the sector.

  20. Conclusion We need to band stronger to build more resilient and sturdier wings to have a soft landing and in the near term to be able to soar to greater heights and transform the crisis into an opportunity.

  21. Thank you!
